Doritos Taco Bake

This recipe caught my eye on pinterest because it had doritos in it. My brother loves doritos and can eat a whole bag at one sitting so we always had doritos in the house growing up.

1 lb. hamburger
1 pkg. taco seasoning
8 oz. sour cream
1 pkg. crescent rolls (8)
1 can tomato sauce
1 can diced tomatoes (optional)
1 c. shredded cheese
Dorito chips

Brown meat and drain fat. Add diced tomatoes, taco seasoning, tomato sauce and a small amount of water. Simmer.

Put crescent rolls in bottom of 9x13 baking dish.

Layer meat mixture then sour cream.

Next put cheddar cheese and crushed up doritos.

Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.

It was pretty good. Mike didn't like it the first night because the chips were really crunchy, but he took the left overs to work the next day and said it was better the 2nd day. I liked the crunchy chips. You win some, you lose some. HA!

  1. Just made this & it was very good! The only complaint I received was that I needed to evenly spread out the croissant in the corners!

  2. I am so ready to cook this tonight.. do you eat it as is or do you put anything on top?

  3. What is a good side dish with this??

    1. Maybe rice, or refried beans. I usually don't have side dishes with my meals because my daughter barely eats her main course so I don't mess with them.

    2. Spanish rice, charro beans and a salad... and also a nice margarita or any frozen drink to top it off !!

  4. Salad would be a Good side dish!

  5. I make mine slightly different, we call it "Taco Pie"

  6. My Mom does a Dorito thing that she's always called "Mexi-Melt," it has mashed Doritos on the top AND the bottom (instead of crescent rolls), and instead of several cans, she uses a jar of salsa. She serves it with lettuce and tomatoes kinda like tacos, but I so love to just eat it with more Doritos!
