Here's the August edition of Marley talk.
After brushing her teeth
Marley- "are they shiny?"
Me- "so shiny"
Marley- "shiny as my grandma's floor?"
At a yard sale. Marley stayed in the van with the door open and Mike and I went up. The people having the sale had a bike, which Mike was looking at and a puppy that I was looking at.
Marley's yelling from the van- "I wanna pet the puppy",
Mike is talking to the lady about the bike. She tells him he can take it for a ride
Marley then yells-"I wanna ride the puppy"
This conversation happened between Marley and her bff Gracie-
M & G- in the back seat talking about poop
Me- "okay, let's stop talking about poop
Marley- "yah Gracie, no more poop"
Gracie- "okay, what about pee"

Baby Sandwiches
Here's another Pinterest recipe. There isn't an actual website with the recipe, it was just all typed up under the picture. But regardless, these are delicious!! This is actually the third time I've made these-that's how good they are!
2 pkgs hawaiian sweet rolls
1lb honey ham
1lb turkey
1lb swiss cheese
1lb provolone cheese
1Tbsp honey mustard
1Tbsp poppy seeds
1 stick of butter
4 Tbsp sugar
2 Tbsp onion flakes
Cut rolls horizontally (do not split up into individual rolls) remove top. Layer meats and cheese on the bottom and replace the top. Mix and melt together all other ingredients in saucepan. Let cool! Then spread on top of rolls. Bake at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes
That's the Pinterest way. When I make them I leave out the swiss cheese and add cheddar. I also only use butter, sugar, garlic powder and minced onion in the spread for the top. And I definitely don't use a whole stick of butter.
These are so good that we never have any leftovers! YUM!

Pizza Rolls
Who doesn't love pizza?! So when I saw this recipe on Pinterest I decided to give it a whirl. Very easy and inexpensive to make. Here's the recipe-
I really liked them. Marley only at the crescent roll and the pepperoni because she says she doesn't like cheese. I will be making these again!
1 (8 ounce) package refrigerated crescent roll dough
4 cheese sticks, halved
1 (3.5 ounce) package sliced pepperoni
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Take each triangle of crescent roll dough and place about 6 pepperoni on the bottom of the triangle. Place half of a cheese stick on top and roll up.
Place seam side down on a cookie sheet and bake for 10-14 minutes or until golden brown.

Friends
Meet Ryan. He's Mason's best friend (they have no say in this matter) Ryan was born 18 days after Mason. Ever since the first time they met Ryan has cried in every picture of the two of them together. Maybe he doesn't want to be Mason's friend? But finally we got one of neither one crying, but they're separated haha.
As you can see Ryan started out so small compared to Mason but has quickly passed him up. It will be so much fun watching these two grow up together.
Also recently Laura and Annabelle came out for a visit. They were out over Memorial Day and met Mason then, but I never posted the pictures.
And now onto Marley's friend Gracie. We've known Gracie and her mom Brandi since Marley was just a few months old. Gracie is 4 days older than Marley and they were born at the same hospital too! I met Brandi through a local mom's group. Over the past year we haven't gotten the girls together as much as usual but once we do get them together they have a BLAST!
Marley loves when she's with Gracie and always "talks on the phone" to Gracie.

July Marley talk
For a long time I've said that I need to write down the silly things that Marley says. Of course, I get busy and forget to then I forget what she even said. Well, that's changing now! This will be a monthly post of all the silly and weird things she says.
After taking a picture of Mason and showing it to me-
Me- "HA! He looks scared"
Marley- "no he doesn't, he looks impressive"
This conversation happened after I explained the tooth fairy to her-
Marley- "that fairy isn't real"
Me- "what, why not?"
Marley- "Cause nobody is as small as a mouse"
At Meijer's with my mom, Marley kept asking to get a bag of popcorn and I told her no because we had popcorn at home-
Marley- "I'm getting popcorn" (while putting the bag in the cart)
Me- "No, you're not" (while taking the bag out of the cart)
Marley- "if it touches the cart, it stays in the cart"
Talking to Auntie Pam Pam- " Pam Pam can I have some root beard"
Showing grandma her coloring pages that Mike printed for her- "here's spiderman, the hulk, and here's a dumb ballerina"

Madison
This past weekend we took a little getaway to Madison, Wisconsin. We got up there around 4pm on Saturday and headed home at about that same time on Sunday afternoon. It was a short but fun trip. We didn't really have any plans of what we were going to do while there, but on the way up we kept an eye out for billboards of stuff to do. Once we crossed into Wisconsin one finally caught our eye. Cave of the Mounds would be our first stop once we made it to Madison. Marley has never been in a cave, and when we asked her if she knew what a cave was she said no but said she wanted to go. I had no idea that Wisconsin was so hilly and pretty. We made it to the cave with 10 minutes to spare before their last tour of the day started. The tour lasted about an hour which was just long enough because on our way out Mason started to cry. It was a neat experience and cold too! It was 50 degrees in the cave. To get into the cave we went into a building/gift shop then through a door into the cave. Marley thought the cave was in the building. I don't think she realized that we were underground.
After we left the cave we took the long way back into Madison and headed downtown for dinner. I have never been to Madison, but I figured it would be a large city like Chicago. It wasn't! It was so cute and clean. There were people everywhere. One thing we really liked was on just about every other corner there were bicycle rental machines. Madison is a college town so it makes sense that there were people everywhere, but it was definitely not what I expected. After we ate dinner we walked around a bit then headed back to the hotel to swim. Sunday morning we were up 7am (thanks to Marley having a bad dream) Mike and Marley went swimming while I got everything all packed up and got myself and the baby ready. At about 9am we headed to the Henry Vilas Zoo. There is no admission or parking fee. It's a fairly small zoo but wasn't crowded at all. It took us about an hour to get through and see all the animals.
After the zoo I had my pageant (the whole reason we went to Madison) Mike took the kids to the mall to play, since it was raining out, then we headed home. On the way home we stopped at Fuddruckers!
All in all it was a short but fun little trip. We loved it out there. It was so pretty and we're glad we're going back in October.
