InstaFriday 9

Okay, so life got really busy last November and I haven't shared any Instagram photos since then. I haven't taken many either so this post isn't going to be photo overload, but I did want to get back into sharing them and since I just transferred all my photos from my phone to my computer, today was the perfect day to start sharing again.

Latch Board DIY

I've been seeing latch board tutorials all over pinterest lately, so I decided to give it a try.  I just headed up to Menard's and picked out a few door latches, hooks, a handle and some washers.  I also picked up a small can of yellow paint and a round board.  For everything it was about $30.

First I painted both sides of the board. I also saw on pinterest to use push pins to hold it off the table when painting so it doesn't stick.  Worked great!

Once it was all dry I layed out my parts to figure out where I wanted them so they wouldn't touch each other and worked best. Then I waited for Mike to get home so he could assemble it. I probably could of done this part myself, but I wanted him to help out too.

Here's Mason watching so patiently.

He played with it for a few minutes and that was about it.  Marley played with it too, but in the end Mason picked up his cars and went on his way.  Maybe he'll play with it more when he's a little bit older.

Taco Pizza

I made this recipe a while ago, but since I am making it for dinner tonight and haven't shared it yet, I decided to write up the post and share it with you. It obviously was good since I'm making it again and it was quick too.

1 lb. ground beef
1 envelope taco seasoning mix
(I made my own taco seasoning about 6 months ago that I use all the time)
8 oz. can crescent rolls
16 oz. can refried beans
2-3 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup chopped tomatoes

Brown and drain ground beef. Mix in taco seasoning as directed on packet. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Unroll crescent rolls and spread flat on baking sheet. Bake at 375 for 11-13 minutes.

Spread refried beans on top of crescents.  Evenly spread meat on top of beans.

Add cheese and tomatoes and any other toppings you want. Return to oven for a few more minutes to melt the cheese.
